Allergy Update: Benedict's Law

We would like to make you aware of an important change regarding food brought into school.

From 1st September, in line with the requirements of Benedict's Law and our ongoing commitment to keeping all children safe, children will no longer be permitted to bring food items into school for distribution within classes. This includes birthday cakes, sweets, chocolates, treats, or any other food intended to be shared with the class..

This change has been introduced to help protect pupils with food allergies and to reduce the risk of accidental exposure to allergens. Food allergies can be severe and, in some cases, life-threatening, so it is essential that we maintain a safe environment for all children.

We understand that many families enjoy celebrating birthdays and special occasions. If your child would still like to mark a special event, we encourage non-food alternatives such as stickers, pencils, bookmarks, or other small items, subject to class teacher approval.

We appreciate your understanding and support as we implement this important measure to ensure the health, safety, and wellbeing of all members of our school community.
